Description

Out in the wilds there exists a vast area of treacherous desert, soothing plains, and dense forest, as well as a plethora of sentient... FURNITURE?! Yes, furniture! Explore this untamed landscape, hunting down chairs, tables, couches, and even giant stuffed bears, all for the sole purpose of decorating your cozy little cabin. So what are you waiting for?! Grab that crossbow, and get to hunting! Created by small indie studio "One House One Fish" and playtested by Ubisoft, House Hunting is an early build of a game where you head out each day and hunt down real, living furniture in order to decorate the cabin of your dreams! (while listening to some great music).

History

House Hunting was first conceptualized in March of 2023 as a joint effort between the Games and Interactivity and Computer Science students at Swinburne University of Technology as part of the capstone unit. The game was one of two proposed ideas brought to light by one of the designers, the other being a fish fighting game given the name “Fishticuffs”. The two game ideas would lead to the team's name being One House One Fish. After pitching both ideas to the cohort of the unit, it was ultimately decided that we would go with House Hunting as it garnered the most positive feedback, with some unique suggestions and ideas from the audience.
